We have many things happening during Lent here at St. Benedict!
Please join us for Mass on Ash Wednesday, March 2nd. Masses, which include the Distribution of Ashes, will be at 8:15 AM and 6:30 PM. From noon until 1:00 PM ashes will be distributed in the back of the church. If you are unable to join us in church, small containers with blessed ashes will be available on a table under the carport throughout the day. You may drive up and take a container of blessed ashes.
Living the Corporal Works of Mercy
Our Human Concerns Commission is asking us to consider making a Lenten sacrifice to support local groups and fellow parishioners. Each week they will highlight the requested needs of one organization and ask you to bring donations to the altar on specified weekends. This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, March 5/6, baby bottles for the New Day Women’s Clinic and Rice Bowls for Catholic Relief Services will be available to take home and fill. Both can be returned by Holy Thursday, April 14th. If writing a check, please make it to the organization. Please accept the challenge and answer the call of the Corporal Works of Mercy this Lent.
Stations of the Cross
Join us on Wednesdays this Lent to pray the Stations of the Cross and remind ourselves of God’s great gift to us, Jesus, and to travel with Him on his journey to Calvary. Stations of the Cross will be prayed every Wednesday evening: March 9, 16, 23, 30, April 6, and 13, at 6 PM.
Virtual Stations of the Cross
If you can’t make it to church for the Stations of the Cross, we will once again present the virtual Stations of the Cross next week Wednesday, March 9th through Flock Note, Facebook and our website.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered every Saturday in Lent from 9:00-10:00 AM. Enter through the Education Wing entrance.
Eucharistic Adoration is every Tuesday from 9:00-11:00 AM.
The Parables of Jesus
Father Mark will present a five-week Bible study on the Parables. The study is offered on Monday evenings from 6-7:30 PM then repeated on Wednesday mornings from 10-11:30 AM every week in Lent except Holy Week.
If you have any questions about the above activities, please call the parish office.
May your Lenten journey bring you closer to God and fill you with grace!
