(Pope
John Paul II, World Youth Day 1995, Philippines)
St. Benedict’s Youth Ministry welcomes the challenge of walking with our youth on their spiritual journeys. We seek to assist families in developing the total personal and spiritual growth of the junior high and high school youth of the parish. Formation, service, and social opportunities and experiences are provided in which youth examine the meaning of being Catholic; reflect on the gospel message of Jesus Christ; come together to share thoughts, emotions, and ideas; connect with youth in the parish and in neighboring communities; and gain an understanding of stewardship through use of their time and talents. These opportunities seek to draw youth to responsible participation in the greater mission, life, and work of the faith community and to empower them to become disciples of Jesus Christ.
The Junior High program meets on Monday nights from 6:30-8:00p.m. in the Youth Room. (Click here for current calendar). We welcome all 7th & 8th grade students—Guests are always welcome!
Formation nights consist of large group presentations, games, and prayer experiences mixed with small group faith sharing.
Ongoing social and service opportunities are planned throughout the year. (See News & Events for details).
The High School program meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Youth Room. (Click here for current calendar). We welcome all 9th & 10th grade students—Guests are always welcome!
Through
our time together we hope to grow in faith and understanding of what it means to
be Catholic and to live a Catholic/Sacramental life.
Ongoing social and service opportunities for all high school teens are planned throughout the year. (See News & Events for details)
“…Confirmed by the gift of the Spirit, that they give witness to Christ by lives built on faith and love…”
General
Intercession from the Rite of Confirmation
As
the final sacrament of initiation, Confirmation welcomes us and deepens our
belonging to our faith community; deepens our relationship to God, as Creator,
Redeemer, and Spirit; and strengthens us as disciples.
The Confirmation program at St. Benedict’s is offered to teens in their
junior year of high school. Older
teens and adults can prepare for Confirmation through the RCIA process.
Our preparation for Confirmation will include the following components:
Each candidate will attend the scheduled meetings.
Each candidate will attend a special Confirmation retreat.
Each candidate will be a regular participant in our Sunday liturgies.

Ready
for an exciting challenge? How
about joining us next summer for a week of fun & service?
Each year a group of teens and adults from St. Benedict’s travel to another city to participate in a summer
mission trip.
Once there, the participants engage in all manner of challenging
experiences—we paint homes, make minor home repairs, assist in summer day care
programs, and engage in various community activities.
The evenings are filled with fun and engaging programs and activities.
Come with us this summer and we promise… you will never be the same!
In 2007, we will have 2 mission trips. From June 24-29 we will travel to Chicago and from July 21-29 we will work with Habitat for Humanity in Slidell, LA. Please contact Krissie for more information.
